Finally... A Special Note from the Owner:
We are currently a single provider office (me!), and I would sure love to find someone to share the schedule with or help build the clinic to a full-time status. That could look like you taking on patients part/full-time while I keep up with practice management or it could mean you working one day a week with patients, complimenting the days I devote. If practice management is something that interests you, we could divvy up all those responsibilities too! I have a young family and like to keep them a top priority. My hope is that every person who joins Empire can also do the same based on their personal needs and preferences, even support staff! Speaking of which, we have an audiology assistant, Ashley, who is wonderful and a solid front desk facilitator in Sydney!
It has been an amazing few years since opening in 2020 and I’m loving it! We expanded to a bigger space in 2023 (it’s so beautiful!) and I think our schedule could easily be full time. Currently we stay booked for several weeks even with our part time schedule. I would love to be as comprehensive as possible for our community as I am currently the only audiologist in the area! So, I am eager to build out better programs for pediatric services, vestibular services, tinnitus management, cochlear implants, more aural rehab, etc…That means whatever passions and knowledge you bring with you will be gladly received! I am not looking for someone to work for me or do what I say; I am looking for someone who loves to think and create, learn and apply, and will help guide our growth to make it something we all continue to love! So just to be redundant, my ideal candidate would be someone interested in some of those specialty services and bringing some energy in those spaces to advance us! Specifically vestibular, pediatrics (diagnostics and hearing aids), potential CI services, and handling a neighboring school district we now take care of. Of course, someone looking to slow down their lifestyle and just work 1-2 days/week is an option too, whether you want to grow your family or ease into retirement! Whatever your preferred services, we could make it work!
We have a room for vestibular services and have VNG/caloric equipment. We also have fairly new ABR equipment, OAEs, Tymps/Reflexes, High-Frequency Audiometry, REM/Live Speech Mapping, Test Box, Redux, the Earigator, etc…! Our slogan is “Rural, but Royal!” Any equipment preferences or desires you would have, we will put on our wishlist and work to make it happen!
I’m so proud of the progress we’ve made so far and thankful to our community for responding. We have several community focused efforts beyond our clinic services such as a children’s clothing trade closet, free monthly giveaways related (sometimes loosely) to ears and hearing, and a community space we used for weekly crafting time with kids and seniors at one point. We’ve even used our community space for a diabetes and hearing loss lunch event with a health coach. Our pediatric visitors leave with a little lion stuffie and stickers! We are definitely unconventional! Hopefully you can pick up just from this ad that I’m not your typical “boss!” And I don’t want to be! I put in my time and effort anywhere it’s needed and I’m very personable in pretty much everything! I also know that my brain is only capable of so much and there are fantastic ideas that others contribute. I don’t know even close to everything, but I love to keep learning more and doing better care.
Back to you…we get this won’t sound enticing to everyone, and that’s okay! We aren’t a hospital, a chain, an ENT, or a large corporation. Just a small private practice existing to advance audiology care for the benefit of our community. So, if it sounds like what you’re interested in, I sure would love to talk about it more! You can email me or give me a call at empireaud@gmail.com or 843.624.347! Can’t wait to learn all about you!
Blessings,
Dr. Rachel Worley
(P.S. Oh, I forgot to tell you about Hartsville! I’ve been here almost 10 years and loved it right from the start. We’ve got a small university, a governor’s residential school for top math and science high schoolers, a fun waterpark and splashpad, a hike-able “garden” in the heart of town next to a kayak-welcoming creek, a live theater, several restaurants, beautiful parks, two lakes, a darling downtown and that great hometown community feel! Even won an All America City Award a few years back! Cost of living is reasonable and your big city attractions (Columbia, Charlotte, Myrtle Beach, Charleston) are only about 1.5-2.5 hours away, any direction!)
