We are a multi-physician ENT Surgical practice in Grand Rapids, MI seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team. The following DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES are central to the role:
- Answer patient phone inquiries ensuring excellent patient satisfaction.
- Assist provider in operative procedures and/or exams done in the office.
- Conduct post and preoperative office visits for surgical patients as required.
- Establishes a compassionate environment to patients, friends, and families.
- Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
- Preparing surgical charts, including H&P's, labs and radiology orders.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient's electronic medical record.
- Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Assist in maintaining clinical supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
- Flexibility to cover other positions when needed.
To ensure success candidates should also possess the following EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Must have at least one year experience, ENT experience is a plus.
Hours are 7:45AM – 4:45PM Monday – Friday. We offer a competitive salary (negotiable depending on experience) with Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Healthcare (practice pays for 95%) and after a year a 401K plan.
